Chinatown Commercial Break Marketplace

Chinatown Commercial Break Marketplace aims to strengthen the Commercial Street corridor by increasing foot traffic, supporting local merchants, enhancing public safety through increased activation, and inviting residents and visitors to experience Chinatown in new ways. The project reflects a collaborative approach among community organizations, merchants, and city partners to test sustainable, people-centered street programming. The marketplace will feature rotating pop-up vendors, food offerings, seating areas, and live music, creating a relaxed environment where residents and visitors can slow down and experience Chinatown. Each month will also include a themed activation, including the Lunar New Year celebration in January, a Valentine’s Day event on February 14, and an Asian food–themed market on March 21.
