The Aura of Upstate Experience Celebrates Community, Creativity, and Independent Storytelling in Upstate New York
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Director/Producer/Screenwriter Evens Angulo-Duvil along with producer Jesus “Bubba” Willis Jr. is inviting the community to experience a special evening dedicated to the stories, voices, and creative spirit of Upstate New York through The Aura of Upstate Experience, taking place on Saturday, September 12 at 7:00 PM at AMC Theaters in Saratoga Springs, New York.
More than a screening, The Aura of Upstate Experience is a celebration of the people, artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers who make Upstate New York unique. The project serves as a love letter to the region through a podcast, documentary series, and animated film designed to showcase local stories and inspire future generations of creators.
Guests will enjoy a screening of the documentary and animated film, followed by reflections from Angulo-Duvil, a live Q&A session, and an exclusive sneak peek of Season 2. The evening will conclude with an after-party at Franklin Square Market.

Behind the scenes, a passionate creative team has supported the project and this event, committed to bringing the vision to life. Eric Vollweiler serves as Executive Producer and plays a key role in venue coordination and fundraising efforts. Ariona Adams serves as Producer, helping guide the project’s development and execution. Graphic design for the event was created by Jodylynn Talevi, whose visual contributions helped capture the spirit and energy of the experience.
The Aura of Upstate Experience also highlights the realities many independent artists face while pursuing their dreams. From balancing creative passions with business responsibilities to navigating the challenges and triumphs of building a career in the arts. Through honest storytelling, the team hopes audiences will see both the beauty and the perseverance behind independent creative work.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Evens Angulo-Duvil is a filmmaker from Upstate NY who has wanted to create an animated show since the age of 10. This early passion led him to
pursuing animation & illustration in college. His Haitian upbringing along with Ecuadorian and Italian influences helped not only expose him to the different cultures that are out there but also the stories that can be told. It has served as a great reference for his work.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Jesus “Bubba” Willis Jr. is a producer, director, and founder of IGrindStudio LLC, specializing in documentary storytelling, branded media, and digital content strategy. With experience producing original films, executive producing independent projects, and creating content for influencers and brands, he combines creative storytelling with business-minded execution. His mission is to build impactful media ventures that spark culture, grow audiences, and create meaningful opportunities for sponsors and investors.
