Backyard Bird Count Hike at Rinconada Canyon
Join a National Park Ranger on a guided hike of Rinconada Canyon. This hike will focus on identifying and recording the different bird species in the area. The Backyard Bird Count is an annual, global event to watch, learn about, count, and celebrate birds. The hike is 2.2 miles roundtrip with slight, gradual inclines along the way. There are vault toilets in the parking lot, but no water is available. Bring plenty of water with you and wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes/boots with good ankle support. Binoculars will be helpful for spotting birds. Dress for the weather. Cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced via social media.
