Daffodil

Daffodil by Eric Craft 2/13 at 6:00pm and 2/14 at 4:00pm The Experimental Theatre One day a Daffodil living in central New Jersey sees the sky for the first time. With her worldview expanded, she decides to set out to the largest human city on earth: Tokyo, Japan. On the way she meets nihilistic butterflies, a non-binary murderous cult leader, a trio of singing sailors, a jackalope, and many other very grounded and realistic characters, but sparks fly when she meets the Japanese customs officer who holds her ultimate fate in his hands. This is a story about the transformative power of seeing the world in new ways and being just the right kind of selfish. The Linnell Festival of New Plays Spring Reading Series features original work by graduate student playwrights in the UNM MFA Dramatic Writing program. These staged readings offer a first look at plays in development, showcasing diverse voices, bold ideas, and emerging talent. Join us to experience new stories in progress and support the next generation of theatrical storytellers. Free Admission!
