Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas invites the public to a reception on March 14, 1-3 pm to meet Painter Colleen Z, Gregoire and talk about her show: “Have a Seat”, Exhibit runs from March 3 – 29.
“Have a Seat” invites you to explore the beauty of New Mexico, from national parks to lively main streets and quiet front porches. Take a seat, relax and enjoy the view through this series of oil paintings. Few things are as inviting as an Adirondack chair in a garden, a bench with a mountain view, or a porch swing that feels like home. Where we sit shapes how we connect with our surroundings.
Gregoire grew up in the Midwest where she studied drawing and painting privately before attaining her BFA and MFA in painting from the University of Kansas. Her work often focuses on architectural themes that reflect the intimacies of daily life. She and her husband relocated to Placitas in the fall of 2020, where she has discovered inspiration for her newest paintings.
Outdoor seating creates a timeless bond between humans and nature – a setting to coexist with the landscape and, just as importantly, with one another.
The artists’ reception will be celebrated with fellowship and refreshments on Saturday, March 14, 1-3 pm. The March 8 First Sunday ARTScrawl event will include a painting demonstration by the artist.
Wild Hearts Gallery is an artists’ collective, supported by 14 local artists. Located at 221-B State Highway 165, the gallery is open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 am. to 4:00 pm., Saturday-Sunday from 10:00 am. to 2:00 pm.
