The Rose: Working with the Energy of Mother Mary

There is an energy that has been showing up across cultures, continents, and centuries under different names. The Guadalupe. Our Lady of Fatima. The Black Madonna. The Pietà. Mary, mother of Jesus, yes, but also something older and wider than any single religion. A feminine force associated with compassion, intercession, healing, and the particular kind of grace that doesn't require you to earn it first.
This series is not a theology class and it is not a Catholic retreat. This class is about tapping into an energy source that is loving and gracious using the most well known symbol of love and grace worldwide: Mary.
Over three Thursday evenings in May, we will talk about the way energy has a power, the way tapping into certain types of energy can help us in all aspects of our lives, from relationships to work, and talk about the way one symbol of divinely loving and feminine energy can help us learn to trust ourselves and others in a world that is often set up to make us fearful of each other and the future.
We work with the rose, one of the oldest symbols of Mary, including a petition practice where you write her a letter and then go into the world to receive what she sends back. And in the final session, you make your own rosary beads and learn how to use them as a contemplative tool, a way of prayer and petition and focus that belongs to you, outside of anyone else's rules about how it's supposed to work.
Each class is two hours and moves from work together around a table over snacks and tea and also on yoga mats, utilizing the light and spaciousness of the main room at Creative Spirit to learn to feel the presence of all that Mary represents
. There are short meditations, somatic practices to take home, crafts (including gemstone beads and all components for making your personal rosary), good conversation, and a lot of room for people who feel aligned with the energy of Mary inside or outside any religion.
ALL are welcome.
All supplies included. Bring a notebook, a pen, water, and a yoga mat if you have one, but mats available if you don't.
