Children’s Museum of Atlanta will honor longtime community leader Andrea Montag with its prestigious Power of Play Award at the 2026 Imagination Ball, set for Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Atlanta History Center. Presented by Georgia Natural Gas, the grown-ups-only gala will channel a spirited 1970s-inspired celebration – pairing disco-era fun with a meaningful mission to make learning through play accessible for all children. The annual fundraiser, which will be co-chaired by Serena Levy and 2025 honoree Stephanie Blank, celebrates individuals who embody the Museum’s mission to change the world by sparking every child’s imagination, sense of discovery and learning through the power of play.
Andrea Montag currently serves on the Boards of WABE, Skyland Trail, A Million Matters and Washington University’s Atlanta Alumni. Her past leadership includes service on the Boards of the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, The Temple and The Lovett Linebackers. As the Founding Director of the Wilbur & Hilda Glenn Institute for Philanthropy & Service Learning at The Westminster Schools, she built programs that have woven service into the school’s DNA. Montag also led the Center for Family Philanthropy at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta for a decade, helping families cultivate meaningful community impact.
“Andrea’s leadership reflects the very best of Atlanta – she’s creative, compassionate and community-minded,” said Edwin Link, Executive Director of Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “Her passion for philanthropy embodies everything Imagination Ball celebrates like the joy, connection and a belief that play can change the world. Honoring her is a celebration of the imagination and generosity that inspire Atlanta’s next generation.”
Guests will enjoy dinner, drinks, and dancing as Imagination Ball 2026 transforms the Atlanta History Center into a night of creativity and community. The evening will feature a cocktail hour and seated dinner, complemented by distinctive auction experiences and the stories that reflect the Museum’s signature sense of wonder. The night will culminate with live music and a 70s-inspired dessert and dancing reception. Funds raised will support the Museum’s mission to spark imagination and discovery through play – ensuring access for children of all backgrounds across Metro Atlanta. Sponsorship and patron opportunities are now available.
