The Atlanta Home Show returns to the Cobb Galleria for its 47th edition from March 20-22 with hundreds of local home improvement and renovation experts, hands-on activities and Bravo’s Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Med. The show picks up where online research leaves off, so consumers can get specific advice and questions answered when it comes to their home projects. The Atlanta housing market is dynamic with new residents, homeowners looking to stay put and expand with additions, people looking for upgrades to age in place and first-time home buyers seeking the best options. Guests will have a chance to meet Captain Sandy Yawn. On Below Deck Med Captain Sandy leads the crew aboard a luxury yacht as they navigate working together and create five-star guest experiences. She is a superyacht captain with over 30 years of international maritime experience. Her integrity and courage have earned her an outstanding reputation as an elite class of captain, and recognition from the International Superyacht Society, who bestowed upon her the prestigious Distinguished Crew Award for her bravery amid a catastrophic fire and pirate threat that occurred in 2006 off the coast of Yemen. Since her first charter season on Below Deck Med, fans have come to admire her leadership, professionalism and laid-back style. That style is reflected in the title of her book, Be The Calm Or Be the Storm: Leadership Lessons from a Woman at the Helm. At the Atlanta Home Show, she’ll share her own cautionary tale with a homebuilder as well as behind-the-scenes scoop from the show, leadership advice and her quest to bring more students into the maritime industry. Sandy appears on Friday, March 20 at 2 p.m. and Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
