America's 250th Birthday: Red white, & Blue Celebration
Free admission. Open to the public.
Weโre celebrating America's 250th Birthday on July 2, at the Fort Meade Parade Field. There will be a DJ, a wide variety of food, beverage, and novelty vendors. Fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m.
Free Kids Bounce House (4-8 p.m.). Recommended for ages 2-14. Age limits vary by attraction. Please leave all pets at home! Grills, sparklers, and glass containers are strictly prohibited.
Gate Information:
๐To keep things moving safely and smoothly, Fort Meade has specific gate instructions, road closures and parking rules in place for the event.
All garrison services are closed at 2 p.m.
๐ Gate Access & Entry Requirements: All visitors and passengers ages 18 and older must present a valid REAL ID compliant driver's license, state ID or U.S. passport. All vehicles and personnel are subject to random inspection/background checks prior to entry.
Non-DoW Cardholders (General Public): Must enter exclusively through the Reece / MD-175 Gate beginning at 4 p.m. Reece gate will be closed a 9 p.m. for inbound traffic.
DOW ID: Can enter through Mapes/32, Mapes/175 and Rockenbach gates. Please avoid the Reece/175 gate to reduce traffic at this access point. Rockenbach will remain open for residents who are directed off-post during egress and need to re-enter. Parking location dependent on gate entry.
Residents: All Fort Meade residents who live on the north side of post are encouraged to park in the lots north of Mapes or walk to the event.
๐ง Road Closures: The following roads will be closed starting at 3 p.m.:
Mapes Road between MacArthur Road and Leonard Wood Avenue.
MacArthur Road between the Shoppette and Commissary.
