Feeding 500 Holiday Hustle 5K
On Sunday, December 7th, Feeding 500 Wilton will host its fourth annual Holiday Hustle 5K with all proceeds going to Open Doors CT. The race begins at 9:30am at Comstock Community Center, 180 School Rd., Wilton. It is a fun community event for a great cause that is officially timed for all levels of runners and walkers. Feeding 500 started when a group of high school students wanted to make a difference by providing 500 meals a quarter to Open Doors CT. This student led group has expanded to eight towns in our area and continues to contribute through food drives, events and volunteering at Open Doors CT. Open Doors CT strives to make a direct impact in the greater Norwalk area by guiding every person in the cycle of homelessness towards housing stability which is accomplished through their grocery pantry, twice daily hot meals, community closet, after school buddies, case management, emergency shelter, affordable homes, street outreach, and financial coaching.
