Downtown White Plains Rock the Block
Mamaroneck Avenue from Maple Ave to East Post Road will be closed from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, transforming the area into a vibrant, car-free, pedestrian-friendly space. Guests can enjoy live performances on the main stage, extended outdoor dining at nearby restaurants, and a variety of free activities for all ages, including cornhole, seesaws, mini-golf, and hands-on art for families. Dogs are welcome too!
Each concert will offer a dynamic mix of styles, including funk, jazz, Latin soul, R&B, bluegrass, Go-Go, and more, bringing diverse music lineups to Downtown White Plains.
The May 20 kickoff concert will feature headliner The Experience Band & Show, a high-energy collective born from the heart of Washington, D.C. Led by the TromboneKing, the group blends jazz, funk, Go-Go, rock, hip hop, and R&B into what they call “ja-funk-go.”
Opening the season is contemporary guitarist Shad Deso, a Houston native and Purchase College student whose genre-bending sound is inspired by art and human connection.
Now in its third year, this summer concert series not only invites White Plains and Westchester residents to step outside and enjoy live music together, but also drives significant foot traffic to local restaurants on a weekday, supporting the downtown dining scene.
Participating restaurants include Brazen Fox, Cantina, Delicias Del Jireh, Freebird, Hudson Grille, Lazy Boy Saloon, Lilly’s, Ron Blacks, and Sundance Kitchen & Cantina.
White Plains Hospital is the presenting sponsor for the event. Additional supporters include Westchester County, Bruni & Campisi, SRG2 Partners LLC., Cappelli Organization, LANline Communications, Orange Bank & Trust Company, Platinum GMC of White Plains, and Partyline. New York Power Authority (NYPA) is a community partner. Their collective support helps make this event a reality.
