In this orientation & safety class, you'll learn how to operate our sewing machines, get comfortable with essential sewing terms, and pick up handy tips and tricks — all while working on a fun hands-on project!
What You Will Learn:
How to safely operate a sewing machine
Essential sewing terms and what they mean
Tips and tricks to make sewing easier
How to complete a hands-on sewing project
Upon completion, and with a pay-what-you-can donation to The Foundry, you'll be eligible to use our makerspaces during Open Maker Hours (Mondays 6–9pm & Saturdays 9am–1pm) to continue building your skills and work on personal projects with support from our trained supervisors.

Ages: 16+
Notice: This class needs to meet the minimum enrollment in order to run. Participants will be notified of cancellation the Monday prior to the class if needed. In case of cancellation, participants can choose another scheduled date if available or request a refund.
