The 1000 Miglia Experience USA Florida, involving approximately 70 Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and other luxury cars, will start — in Naples for the first time — on Saturday, Feb. 21. Cars will first head south from a reserved section of The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón, parking lot at 8:15 a.m. Organizers estimate the first cars will reach Fifth Avenue South at about 8:34 a.m. and Naples Yacht Club on Gulf Shore Boulevard at 8:52 a.m. The route will then go along Bonita Beach, Fort Myers Beach and into downtown Fort Myers before using Tamiami Trail toward an overnight stay in Tampa. The other two legs will be Tampa to West Palm Beach (with a stop at Sebring International Speedway) on Feb. 22, and then to Miami on Feb. 23. The event honors an open-road, Brescia-Rome 1,600-kilometer (about 1,000 miles) round-trip motorsport endurance race first held in 1927. Last year’s edition was a round trip between Miami and Tampa with a stop in Naples.
