Alicia’s Closet 5K: Run for Love, Run for Families
Join us Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Dublin Community Recreation Center for the Second Annual Alicia’s Closet 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run. This family-friendly event welcomes runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all ages to come together for a meaningful cause.
The morning begins with the Kids Fun Run at 8:45 AM, followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 9:00 AM. The stroller- and wheelchair-accessible course is designed for participants of all abilities. All 5K finishers will receive a commemorative medal, and awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers.
More than just a race, the Alicia’s Closet 5K is a heartfelt community fundraiser supporting children and families impacted by foster and kinship care across Central Ohio.
When children enter foster care, many arrive with little more than the clothes they’re wearing. Alicia’s Closet exists to change that reality. Through its free store, support groups, respite programming, and community events, Alicia’s Closet provides essential resources and connection for foster families, kinship caregivers, reunified families, and former foster youth—many of whom do not qualify for traditional foster care resources.
Families often come to Alicia’s Closet during moments of profound transition, such as when a child has just entered foster care or when relatives step in to care for family members. For many children, something as simple as choosing their own clothing or receiving basic supplies can be the first step toward restoring dignity, comfort, and hope.
Every step taken in the Alicia’s Closet 5K helps provide clothing, supplies, and ongoing support programs that ensure children and families have the resources and community they need to thrive.
