Evening At The Races, Presented by the Livermore Pleasanton Elks Lodge #2117
When you arrive; you’ll receive a Racing Program with a plastic pocket containing $2,000 in script money. You’ll be able to use your script money to bet on any combination of six horses in six heats. Additional script money will be available for purchase of $20 in real money for $2,000 in script money.
A grid pattern will be taped off on the lodge floor. Volunteers will stand in this grid pattern. These volunteer racers will progress along the grid through a process of rolling large foam rubber dice to determine which horse will cross the finish line first.
Of course, you won’t be able to win any actual money, but you can win bragging rights! We’ll even give prizes and winners certificates to every winning horse and the top three winners of script money to cement those bragging rights. Since proceeds support Elks’ projects; everyone will end the evening a winner.
Betting and Payment Information: Place Your Bets, Roll The Dice, Win Prizes!
Each script $100 bill will purchase one ticket. Each winning ticket pays 5 to 1 which is $500 per ticket.
For example, if you bet 3 bills which is equal to $300 in script money and your horse wins then you will be paid $500 in script money per ticket which in this example would be $1,500. All winnings must be reconciled before the start of the next racing heat. You will not be able to collect on any winning bets after the start of the next heat. In the event that your winnings in script money are considerable, you will likely be paid with a voucher instead of with script money. The voucher can still be used to bet on horses in exactly the same way as the script money.
