In celebration of October as Filipino American History Month (FAHM), the Livermore Filipino American Organization, Inc. will hold its annual Barrio Fiesta on Sunday, October 4 from 10:00 am -6:00 pm at the Bankhead Plaza, 2400 First Street, Downtown Livermore. Barrio Fiesta is the biggest, brightest, and only celebration of the Filipino-American community in the Tri-Valley. Since receiving a proclamation from the City of Livermore in 2016, we have celebrated Filipino-American culture and history through exquisite food, a unique language, expressive art, harmonious music, colorful fashion, and energetic dance.
We deliver education through memorable, interactive experiences — games, exhibits, guest speakers, visual media, and more.
This year we are especially honored to welcome John F. Itliong as our keynote speaker. John is the
son of Larry Itliong, the Filipino-American labor leader who organized the Filipino farmworkers of the
Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee and launched the 1965 Delano Grape Strike — the
movement that reshaped agricultural labor in California and led to the founding of the United Farm
Workers.
The Filipino Barrio Fiesta is free, open to all, and family friendly!
