Tri-Valley Cultural Jews Announces 2026-2027 Jewish Culture School Theme: Jewish Scientists Through the Ages
Tri-Valley Cultural Jews is excited to announce the 2026-2027 year of Jewish Culture School, a unique educational program that explores Jewish history through the lens of culture, ideas, and human achievement.
This year, students will discover the stories of Jewish scientists, astronomers, physicians, environmentalists, and innovators from biblical times to the present day. Rather than approaching Jewish history as a series of tragedies or solely through a religious framework, Jewish Culture School examines Judaism as an evolving culture shaped by the people who have contributed to it across centuries and continents.
Along the way, students will learn about the lives of Jews in the diverse times and places where these scientists lived, gaining insight into Jewish communities around the world while exploring the scientific discoveries and ideas that helped shape our understanding of the world. Of course, there will be opportunities for hands-on science activities as well!
Jewish Culture School is open to children from age six through fourteen years and culminates in a Secular Brit Mitzvah ceremony. In addition to history, students explore Jewish music, dance, foodways, literature, ethics, and social justice in a welcoming Humanistic Jewish environment.
Tri-Valley Cultural Jews welcomes families of all backgrounds and configurations who are seeking a HJewish community centered on culture, history, family, and shared values rather than religious observance. Membership in Tri-Valley Cultural Jews is required to participate.
