Heritage Fine Arts Guild Presents: “A New Approach to Painting” with Homare Ikeda January 31, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Ascension Lutheran Church, Littleton The Heritage Fine Arts Guild invites artists of all levels to explore new creative territory in our January workshop, A New Approach to Painting, led by acclaimed Denver-based artist Homare Ikeda. This immersive, one-day workshop encourages participants to move beyond familiar techniques and embrace the unexpected. Rather than focusing on “how-to,” Homare guides artists in deepening their understanding of the tools and materials they already use. Through experimentation with mark-making—adjusting speed, switching tools, and welcoming unconventional methods—students will create a final piece that reflects a departure from their usual style. Participants are encouraged to bring a variety of materials from their studio (excluding oil paints), including acrylics, watercolor, ink, charcoal, pastel, and more. Unconventional tools such as twigs are welcome, alongside traditional brushes. A full materials list is available on our website. Workshop Details: 📅 Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026 🕘 Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM 📍 Location: Ascension Lutheran Church, 1701 W Caley Ave, Littleton, CO 💲 Cost: $35 for Guild members | $75 for non-members 🔗 Register: www.heritage-guild.com. About the Instructor: Homare Ikeda’s richly layered paintings evoke the mystery and movement of the sea, reflecting his belief that painting is a journey into the unknown.
