Inspired by the bestselling 2020 memoir “Never a Girl, Always a Boy” by award-winning author Jo Ivester, this work tells a family’s journey and a coming-out story with humor and warmth. Always A Boy follows Joshua and his mother, Rachel, as they prepare for a wedding and reflect on the years that transformed their family. As Joshua began his gender journey alongside his sister’s path to marriage, long-unspoken truths surfaced, challenging and strengthening their relationship.
