Join us for the 27th Annual Historic Home Tour in River Bend, one of Des Moines, Iowa's most historic and diverse neighborhoods. This year's tour will take place on Saturday, September 20th, and Sunday, September 21st, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to explore the charm and character of our community. River Bend boasts a rich history, with many homes dating back to the 1870s. Our neighborhood is a testament to the enduring spirit of Des Moines, showcasing a vibrant mix of families and architectural styles. The Annual Historic Home Tour is the River Bend Neighborhood Association's premier fundraising event, supporting vital projects and community events such as our annual Blocktober Party and Trunk or Treat. During the tour, you'll have the chance to step inside some of the district's most impressive homes and businesses. Witness the progress of ongoing restorations and appreciate the work of renowned architects who have left their mark on our neighborhood. Whether you're a longtime visitor or a first-time guest, we invite you to immerse yourself in the history and hospitality of River Bend. The self-guided walking tour will run from 10 AM to 4 PM on both Saturday, September 20th, and Sunday, September 21st, rain or shine. Upon arrival, please collect your tour booklet from the ticket booth located at 1535 7th Street (across from Moulton Elementary). A courtesy shuttle service will be available during the tour; however, please note that it has limited capacity and may not be able to accommodate all visitors at all times.
