The Restoration Circle is a one-day outdoor waste reduction and sustainability event hosted at the Community Serenity Pavilion in Detroit’s Jefferson Chalmers community. This hands-on event brings residents together to learn practical ways to reuse and repurpose everyday materials. Participants will create seed starters using recycled containers, exchange plants to support biodiversity, and transform broken garden tools into a permanent art installation for the Wildflower Garden at 266 Philip. A textile repair station will offer iron-on patches for denim and jackets, encouraging clothing reuse. The event promotes circular economy practices by reducing landfill waste while strengthening community connection. Attendees will take home planted containers to grow at home, extending the impact beyond the event.
