Community Appreciation Day at Ford House
Ford House opens its doors to the community on Saturday, April 11, 2026, for a free day of exploration and connection. Community Appreciation Day is Ford House's way of saying thank you to the neighbors, families, and first-time visitors who make this place so meaningful.
Admission is free for everyone, with advance registration recommended to help Ford House plan for a smooth experience.
The gardens and grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The historic Main Residence welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The auxiliary buildings, including Josephine's Playhouse and the Garage, are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stop by the Visitor Center to explore current exhibitions and shop at The Shop at Ford House. Dining is available at The Continental throughout the day.
This year's event also features a special showcase of Michigan and National History Day student projects, with students presenting exhibits, websites, documentaries, papers, and performances on the grounds.
Ford House is located at 1100 Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Shores. Admission is free for all ages. Registration is available at fordhouse.org.
