It Takes a Village: Black Maternal Health Week Event
According to the CDC, Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy‐related causes than White women — and more than 80% of these deaths are preventable. In recognition of Black Maternal Health Week, Henry Ford Health is hosting It Takes a Village on April 15. The event is open to the public, connecting expectant families with midwives, doulas, nurses, physicians, community health workers, and lactation support to provide education, resources, and guidance aimed at reducing disparities.
