We have all experienced time in a waiting room or waiting area. As we wait for whatever it is we are there for, there are usually others waiting too – each with a story of their own. Why are they there? What news will they hear? Are they there with or about a loved one? Will their visit result in a life-changing perspective? These are just some of the scenarios audience members will experience at Grosse Pointe Theatre’s TAKE TEN: Ten-Minute Play Festival, running May 1-3, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Grosse Pointe Woods. The theme of this year’s Play Festival is The Waiting Room.
This year’s Play Festival attracted the attention of 343 playwrights from ten countries who submitted a ten-minute play for consideration. All plays were screened to make sure playwrights followed the theme, criteria, and minimal set requirements. The narrowed list of plays was then sent to independent judges. The judges’ ten top-ranked plays will be presented at Grosse Pointe Theatre's 2026 Ten-Minute Play Festival May 1-3.
Join us for this creative performance experience. Tickets are $15. Visit www.gpt.org/playfest to reserve tickets or call 313-881-4004. Seating is limited.
