Friends of the West Bloomfield Library Announce Fall Book Sale: October 9–11

West Bloomfield, MI — The Friends of the West Bloomfield Township Public Library will host their Annual Fall Used Book Sale from October 9–11 at the Main Library, offering one of the community’s most anticipated literary events of the year. Thousands of gently used books and media will be available, including fiction, nonfiction, children’s literature, cookbooks, history, biography, Judaica, art, and specialty items.

“Our book sale is a cornerstone of community engagement,” said Roslyn Yerman, Co‐Chair of the Friends. “Every purchase directly supports programs that enrich learning, literacy, and cultural life in West Bloomfield.”

Co‐Chair Alene Miller emphasized the event’s community impact, noting, “This sale brings together readers of all ages — families, educators, students, and lifelong learners. It’s a warm, welcoming weekend that reflects how deeply our community values its library.”

Event Schedule

• Friday, October 9 — Members‐Only Preview (7–9 PM): Exclusive early access to the full collection. Memberships may be purchased at the door.
• Saturday, October 10 — Public Sale (9 AM–5 PM)
• Sunday, October 11 — Public Sale (12–3 PM): Bag Day – Buy a bag of books for $5.00, with audio visual material half off.

Educators:  Show your teacher's ID at check out and enjoy 50% off your purchase of educational materials all weekend.

Proceeds from the sale fund early literacy initiatives, children’s and teen programming, author visits, technology upgrades, and special collections. The Friends’ book sales have become a longstanding tradition, strengthening the library’s mission and expanding access to educational resources for the entire community.
