Workshop: Found Poetry with Michelle Sharp
Found poetry, also known as blackout poetry, is the process of creating poems by marking out words from recycled book pages. Participants can look for creative meaning in this subtractive process, editing down a passage into something new. Many of the resulting poems are also visual art pieces in themselves, using the redacted words as shape and form. Join us for this unique intersection of creative writing and visual process art!
Artist Instructor Bio:
Michelle Sharp (b. 1992) is an artist currently working in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. She works primarily in bookmaking arts, photography, and writing. Michelle is inspired by the mundane, acts of sharing & discovery, literature, and structured systems.
