HeART Strut 2026 Community Art Playshop—Giant Puppet Weekend

Learn how to create your own “jumping jack” style giant street puppet. This will be an all-cardboard build. (No papier-mâchè this time.)
Twelve hours is just enough time to finish, but if not, you can take your puppet home to complete–and then bring it with you to the Strut.
This community playshop is a warm up for the HeART Strut Community Procession at the HEART of Honolulu Festival on April 11, 2026. Come out and strut your stuff with your unique creation as we stroll along Nuʻuanu Avenue at 12:30pm and again at 2:30pm
Saturday & Sunday, March 28-29
11am–5pm each day (12 hours total)
$25 for the weekend
Children 8+ free. Each child must be accompanied by 1 adult (1:1 ratio)
Templates available or create your own design.
All materials provided.
Feel free to bring and use up some of your arts & crafts hoard, except for glitter.
