We would like to invite you to be with us on Thursday, May 1st, as we join millions of Americans across the country in glorifying God and observing this year’s National Day of Prayer. His grace has guided this nation’s growth and progress since its birth for almost 250 years.
Our observance will be held at the Indiana Statehouse from 12:00-1:00pm. The gathering will be filled with prayer for media, arts, and entertainment, governmental leaders, the military, churches, families, education, and other topics. Governor Mike Braun will deliver a short message on prayer and its importance to our nation’s present and future. We are honored to have his support!
All through history, America has turned to God in times of conflict and in peace. The National Day of Prayer, which was established by law in 1952 and then amended in 1988 to permanently designate its observance on the first Thursday of May, every year, is a great opportunity for American to unite in recognition of our incredible need for God. The President will issue a proclamation on this day, proclaiming a day of prayer for our nation.
This year’s theme is Pour Out to the God of Hope and be Filled, from Romans 15:13. For one day out of the year, we can join with millions of other Americans in bringing light and hope to our country, through the power of prayer to Almighty God.
The National Day of Prayer National Observance will be observed on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and locally observed in tens of thousands of gatherings in all 50 states and U.S. territories, connecting us to the National Observance being hosted on the Capitol. I hope our entire community will realize the importance of God’s hand in America and will remember the great opportunity we still have in America to come before God publicly and corporately.
We hope you will join us as an important part of our community. We would love to have you join us for this great event supporting the wonderful state of Indiana!
