Jacksonville St. Johns Town Center Celebrates Milestone 10th Anniversary of Public Menorah Lighting

"A decade ago, we set out to share Chanukah's message of light triumphing over darkness. Since then, the menorah lighting has become a beloved Jacksonville tradition," said Rabbi Shmuli Novack, who has co-directed Chabad of Jacksonville Town Center since 2006. "For ten consecutive years, through thick and thin, this celebration has grown into many people's holiday season highlight and a beacon of joy in Jacksonville’s Town Center." This Year’s Menorah Lighting Tuesday evening’s celebration will feature the lighting of a giant 10-foot menorah, live entertainment, traditional holiday songs, spirited dancing, as well as delicious Chanukah treats including fresh latkes and donuts. There will be a wide variety of family friendly activities, including arts and crafts, glow-in-the-dark accessories and a free raffle. This year's milestone celebration will be graced by distinguished community members as well as city leaders including Sheriff T.K. Watters, Dr. Dmitriy Model of Avacina Medical alongside beloved local political leaders like councilman Nick Howland and lay leaders who have come out yearly to this annual celebration.
