The Jacksonville Home + Patio Show returns to the Prime Osborn Convention Center for its fall edition October 2-4 with hundreds of local home improvement and renovation experts, hands-on activities and special guests.
While most consumers begin a home improvement project online, the show fills the niche where online research leaves off –getting specific advice and questions answered by knowledgeable, local experts when it comes to their home projects.
The show’s special guests are the energetic hosts of PBS’ America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country, Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison. They’ll share inside-the-kitchen secrets for how the show works, from recipe development to ingredient testing. The real-life friends will keep audiences engaged and laughing as they discuss their favorite recipes, kitchen gadgets they can’t live without, culinary techniques and tips for foodies and aspiring culinary connoisseurs alike.
Bridget and Julia will also welcome audience questions about the show, deconstructing recipes, preparation fails and more. The duo will be live on the Fresh Ideas Stage on Friday, October 2 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, October 3 at 1 p.m.
Other show highlights include:
Get Crafty. *New Feature* Guests at the show can take an arts and crafts break with Fleurish Felt Flower Co. They are offering a complimentary hands-on workshop where they’ll learn to create everlasting flowers from felt. The workshop includes a sprig of lavender and cheerful felt mum, all under the guidance of Fleurish founder Bryanne Rajamannar. The 45-minute workshops run throughout the show, and are limited to 12 participants on a first come, first served basis.
‘Tis The Season.*New Feature* Halloween is still weeks away, but die-hard Christmas lovers start thinking about decking the halls as soon as fall arrives (or earlier). Humbug Lighting is bringing the holiday spirit with a display of luxury designer Christmas trees, from coastal-inspired to Jaguar-fanatic’s dream tree. Visit them in booth 615.
Eat Your Yard Jax. Back by popular demand, the Eat Your Yard Jax is hosting classes throughout the show to teach guests how to improve their gardens, grow their own food, set up container gardens and more. Check the workshop schedule at Eat Your Yard JAX Workshops | Jacksonville Home + Patio Show.
Kid’s Entrepreneur Market. *New Feature* They may not be old enough to drive but these young entrepreneurs are driven. On Saturday and Sunday only from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., some of North Florida’s aspiring kid creators will be at the show selling their goods. Come support the next generation of Jacksonville’s workforce.
Home Depot Kids Workshops. A trip to the show provides a hands-on, screen-free activity for kids with a DIY workshop from The Home Depot. The workshop – free with admission – helps young DIYers build their skills and get creative. Located in booth 541 and 639 while supplies last.
“Not only is this show created for people who are thinking about a home improvement project or are in the midst of a renovation, we also designed it as a destination where guests can take workshops, participate in arts and crafts and have a lot of family fun, too,” said Taylor Treadway, Show Manager with Marketplace Events. “This is a destination where their time and budgets are considered so they can efficiently shop and compare, find the best deals and talk to local experts about the nuances of their specific project.”
