Friday, April 25 (at noon) to Saturday, April 26 (at noon) it's Women in Nature: Backpacking at Weston Bend State Park.
Ladies, do you love to hike? Do you want to try backpacking, but just don’t know where to start? This is the perfect event for you! In this introductory overnight event, you will learn all the basics of backpacking. Fire safety, bear bagging and so much more will be covered.
This event gives women the chance to learn about camping and backpacking in a safe, comfortable and judgment-free environment. Parks instructors will provide basic gear. Women of all experience levels are welcome. Participants must be at least 10 years old and any participants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. There is a $25 registration fee and a maximum of eight participants. Visit icampmo.com, click on the “Show 1 session available” box below the backpacking listing. Then, click on the green “Sign up!” button to register. Participants will meet at the Bee Creek Shelter, located one-half mile west of the park’s main entrance at 16600 Highway 45 N in Weston.
