In a partnership with Crystal Bridges Mobile Art Lab, come design a fabric square to be sewn into a community quilt!
Laman Library is partnering with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art as a community pick up/drop-off location for their America 250: Common Threads project—an art initiative connecting Arkansans through creativity, storytelling, and quilting.
As part of the upcoming America 250: Common Threads exhibition (March 14–July 27, 2026), Crystal Bridges is inviting people across Arkansas to design quilt squares inspired by themes of family, community, home, and hope for the future. Each kit includes materials and guidance from the museum's featured artist, Basil Kincaid, whose work explores history, memory, and imagination through textiles and performance.
When participants complete their quilt squares, they’ll return them—by Friday, May 22, 2026. All returned squares will come together to form a series of community quilts stitched live by Arkansas quilters and guilds in the museum galleries at Crystal Bridges in Bentonville.
Teens can stop by the Loft on April 6 to create their quilt squares! They can also choose to take a kit home, being sure to bring their finished square back by Friday, May 22.
