Varietyville, a monthly live variety show, is celebrating their third annual Mardi Gras special and first show at LA’s premiere nightclub, The Three Clubs, on Tuesday, February 17, at 8:00 pm.
Directed by creator and showrunner Austin Laine Walker, the show draws inspiration from icons of television’s golden years, like Dean Martin, Carol Burnett, and The Muppets—blending scripted storytelling, improvisational blunders, and guest performances with a festive yuletide twist.
We’re really going to let the good times roll with special guests Esmerelda the Puppet (a New Orleans native!), magician Matt Felten, and pro wrestling manager extraordinaire Jack Fancy! And it wouldn’t be a Mardi Gras celebration without a brass brand, led by Mike Bolger and the Hollywood Highsteppers. Plus, there’ll be sketch comedy from The Varietyvillians (Suzanne Nichols, Cait Bidwell, Yasha Rayzberg, Amanda Sedaka, Iris Perry, & “Transatlantic Will” Marcil) with legendary character actor, Dr. M.C. Gainey, as well as cartoons from Isaiah Ferguson and puppetry by Alex Bartley!
Be sure to come hungry because there will be gumbo AND the traditional King Cake to celebrate as well as drinks poured by the mixologists of Three Clubs.
