The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Fall Edition presents the horror-thriller No Rest for the Wicked (Faroe Islands, 2026), its Centerpiece Film, on Oct. 21., at 7:30 p.m., at Savor Cinema Fort Lauderdale. A Halloween-themed afterparty will follow the screening.
Faroe Islands, 1862. Young fisherman Baldur lives a quiet, isolated existence shaped by tradition, faith, and the unforgiving North Atlantic. His world is transformed when Helge, a rugged whaler, arrives in the remote village. Drawn to one another, the two men begin a passionate but forbidden relationship, forced to keep their growing love hidden from a deeply conservative community. When tragedy strikes, fear and superstition grip the island, unleashing forces both natural and supernatural. As suspicion and intolerance intensify, Baldur and Helge must fight to protect their love against a society determined to destroy it, even as dark and ancient powers awaken around them.
The film is in Faroese and English with English subtitles and runs 103 minutes.
The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Fall Edition runs through Oct. 25 with select films available for OUTshine At-Home viewing from Oct. 26 – Nov. 1.
