A Tasty Journey Through Brewing History
[Waukesha, Wisconsin – 2/6/2026] North Pillar Brewing is proud to announce the second installment of its beer tasting series, The Evolution of Style, an immersive tasting and learning experience that explores the history and development of today’s most popular craft beer styles. The next event, which focuses on the development of the Baltic Porter, takes place on Thursday, April 2nd, at 7:00 PM in the back room of North Pillar Brewing (212 E. North St., Waukesha).
This unique event invites attendees to take a deep dive into the who, what, where, when, why, and how behind the Baltic Porter. Guests will trace the style's lineage through four historical beer styles, sampling each in turn while learning how one influenced the next, culminating in the fifth and final sample: the Baltic Porter.
“The Evolution of Style blends humor, history, and flavor in a way that appeals to both knowledgeable beer lovers and craft beer newcomers," said Pat Lafferty, the series developer. "It's a hands-on experience that connects the dots between the classic beer styles of centuries past and the creativity of today's exciting craft beer scene. The response from the first session was extremely positive. This session will be a little more historical, but just as tasty. If you love dark beer, you're gonna love this event!”
