Food & Coat Drive

We are collecting new and gently-used winter items such as coats, hats, gloves, and mittens for children, youth, and adults. These items will be delivered by Peace volunteers to the YMCA in Burnsville for further distribution. In addition, we are collecting most-needed food items such as canned fruits, vegetables, and proteins (pork, chicken, fish, or beans); dried beans; rice; pasta and pasta sauce; shelf-stable items including tortillas—maize-cornmeal—milk—juice; cereal, hearty soups, and baking essentials such as flour, masa, sugar, spices, and cooking oil. There are also many household essentials also in high demand. This includes toilet paper; paper towels; diapers especially sizes 5-8; baby wipes; cleaning products such as laundry detergent and dish soap; personal care items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand soap, shaving cream, contact lens solution, and feminine products. Childrens books in English or Spanish are welcome too. Food and household essential donations will be delivered to VEAP serving Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, and south Minneapolis neighbors and a portion of the donations will also delivered to San Pablo Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Minneapolis’ Phillips neighborhood. Donations will be accepted during this community-wide drive on Saturdays, February 14 and 21 from 10:00am through 2:00pm and, Monday, February 16 through Thursday, February 19 from 9:00am through 3:00pm. Peace Lutheran Church is located at 8600 East Bush Lake Road. Enter the parking lot off 86th Street. Donations can be dropped off by entering Peace’s main front door.
