Middlebury Congregational Church to Present World Premiere of “As Much As You Want”

Middlebury Congregational Church will present the world premiere of As Much As You Want, a new comedy written and directed by Middlebury resident Christopher S. Avcollie, in the church’s social hall at 1242 Whittemore Road in Middlebury. Performances will take place Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. ($35 per person, includes a three-course dinner), and Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. ($15 per person matinee). Families are encouraged to attend the Sunday matinee, which will be a shorter afternoon performance. As Much As You Want is a sequel to the hit 2023 production As You Were, continuing the story of attorney Wenty L. Wentworth III, Esq., as he navigates a new round of legal chaos and a cast of wildly comedic characters, with plenty of mischief and plot twists. “I wanted to continue Wenty’s story because audiences loved watching this lovable, flawed character stumble his way toward doing the right thing,” said Avcollie. “This sequel raises the stakes, adds a new villain, and gives the audience plenty of laughs along the way.” The production features a cast and crew from Middlebury and surrounding communities, including Diane Barnard, Gracian and Naya Brito, Michele Rowell Finn, Bob Giannini, Charis and Callie Hubbard, ShawnaLee and Andrew Kwashnak, Liam McGrath, Sal Sena, and Sue and Pete Vindigni. Music is coordinated by David Obarowski. The production team includes Stage Manager Grace Avcollie, along with Roz Teleposky. Meals will be prepared and served by Kate Avcollie and Ellen Aronheim, with support from volunteer kitchen staff. Tickets are available at www.middleburyucc.org/mcc-players before May 8. Advance purchase is recommended. Limited tickets will be available at the door. For questions, call 203-758-2671.
