Heartwood Preserve Hosts Free Conservation Day Event
Guests can explore informational booths with sustainable living tips and drop off old electronics at an on-site e-waste recycling station. There also will be a coloring station for kids to showcase their creativity.
Heartwood Preserve is partnering with a variety of organizations, all in celebration and care for our planet.
• Pot and take home a complimentary tomato plant. S&N Landscape Design will provide planting tips.
• Learn about bees, pollinator-friendly practices and how to sustain healthy bee populations by The Bee Lab at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
• Sheriff Aaron Hanson with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be on-site with patrol mini-goat, Deputy Kiddy, to share how goats help the environment
by clearing brush and invasive species.
• eWaste Omaha will collect old electronics. Visit ewasteomaha.com for a list of items that will be accepted.
