Roundhouse Paintings: Inside & Out - A New Art Exhibition in Cocoa Village - Opening Reception
Join us to celebrate home, hope and community at Family Promise of Brevard with the unveiling of a new mural and art exhibition by Maxine Trainer!
“Roundhouse Paintings: Inside and Out” features artwork bursting with saturated color, playful geometry, and charmingly tall, stick-like figures. They populate the exterior of the Roundhouse, once a cistern providing water for the old firehouse, now an exhibition space for Maxine’s vision and a vibrant symbol of stability and belonging in our neighborhood.
Inside the paintings that inspired the mural are on display along with a preview of birdhouses created by local artists for auction at The Big Brunch, Family Promise’s annual fundraiser.
“People often say my work makes them feel happy,” says Maxine. “that’s a perfectly reasonable reaction but generally there’s a deeper story and that’s the case here. These tell the story of the Family Promise Mission: Keeping families housed in times of Crisis so children can thrive. They are about finding a safe place and a new start.
The opening reception is Feb 14 from 6-9pm. Bring your Valentine for GREAT Art, lively conversation and very amusing people. Refreshments will be served. Prepare to be inspired..
