She visited the complexes where the tiny toho glass seed beads, hand forged Damascus knives, and complex kumihimo are made.. Beverly is bringing examples of the things she created while in Japan. Her video presentation will share the sights, scenes and shrines that make Japan such an awesome place for craft loving people to visit
Beverly is a master Weaver herself and belongs to the Weavers of Orlando where she chairs their Community Outreach and Education Department, presenting Hands-On demonstrations throughout Central Florida and working to teach young the next generation of weavers
Variety and enthusiasm describe the members of the Space Coast Weavers & Fiber Artists Guild. All fiber arts are practiced, shared, and admired at this guild that meets on Merritt Island once a month. Members encourage each other to try new ways of making art with fiber with monthly talks and workshops. In addition to the traditional thread-based crafts, individuals have shared ways to weave and create with natural materials, metal, paper, and plastic. The guild has satellite groups focusing on rug hooking, spinning, tapestry, and using upcycled materials.
Meetings are fress and open to the public. For more information, call Jeanie McCormack at 321-266-1610. or visit https://www.spacecoastweaversandfiberartists.org/
