Oysters and Independence
Guests will enjoy a curated oyster tasting paired with wine. The event will feature Dr. Stephen Nepa, American History Professor at Penn State University - Abington, who will explore the surprising role oysters played in everyday life during the Revolutionary period. Attendees will learn how this once-abundant delicacy fed colonial forefathers, soldiers, and citizens. Dr. Nepa will also discuss how oysters, the original "street food" of the colonial period, shaped commerce, culture, and cuisine in the era of American independence.
