“Bee Our Guest” Garden Party
Estrella Estates Gracious Retirement Living is turning an unexpected honeybee discovery into an opportunity for education and community connection as it prepares to safely remove and rehome a large colony of honeybees from one of the community’s on-site casitas on Wednesday, August 12.
With the help of Busy Bee Pest Solutions, a local live bee relocation business, the colony will be carefully removed and rehomed, helping protect residents while ensuring the bees are handled responsibly.
To mark the occasion, Estrella Estates will host a “Bee Our Guest” Garden Party on Friday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Guests are invited to observe the honey removal portion of the process, help plant pollinator-friendly flowers and enjoy tea and light appetizers.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring residents together around a positive, educational and community-minded moment,” said a representative for Estrella Estates. “By working with Busy Bee, we can support safe removal while celebrating the important role honeybees play in our environment.”
The event offers residents and guests an up-close look at responsible bee relocation while encouraging greater awareness of pollinators and their role in the local ecosystem.
