This summer, the Great Arizona Puppet Theater invites audiences of all ages to take a heartwarming journey into the beloved world of Winnie the Pooh. Join Pooh Bear, Piglet, Eeyore, and friends in an all-new original puppet production that brings A.A. Milne’s timeless stories to life through puppetry, music, and a lot of honey. Adapted and performed by award-winning resident puppeteer Matthew McGee and featuring original music by Sean Bonnette of the indie folk-punk band AJJ, this delightful show captures the gentle charm and humor of the classic tales. In this whimsical adventure, Pooh and his ever- anxious but devoted pal Piglet hatch a plan to cheer up their gloomy friend Eeyore on his birthday. Along the way, buzzing bees, tall trees, and plenty of laughter and surprises will enchant both the young and the young at heart. “Winnie the Pooh is a children’s story and a celebration of friendship, kindness, and imagination,” says Artistic Director Gwen Bonar. “With beautifully handcrafted puppets and an original score that blends nostalgia and playfulness, this production is a love letter to generations of Pooh fans.”
