Summer Day Camp at The J
There are two exciting summer day camp programs offered at The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center, which is also affectionately known as "The J." There is the Kochavim Camp for ages 2 to Kindergarten and Shemesh Camp for children in grades K-10.
The Kochavim and Shemesh day camps offer a wide range of activities that include outdoor swim lessons, splash pad play, sports, art lessons, music, drama, cooking, STEM programming, field trips, tween adventures, and more. With low staff-to-camper ratios, both camps provide an exciting summer home where campers are encouraged to try new activities, gain new skills, build self-confidence, and meet new friends. There are no religious-type classes. These traditional day camps blend Jewish values into a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all campers.
The Kochavim camp runs from May 26 - July 25 and Shemesh camp from May 26 - Aug. 6. The camp day starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. but there is also early care beginning at 7:30 a.m. and late care that ends at 5:30 p.m.
