The final concert of The 2025–2026 Uptown Jazz Series will be an extra special event. Jazz aficionados certainly know the groundbreaking piano artistry of Pittsburgh native Erroll Garner. However, his compositional prowess is often neglected. Join us as we venture beyond his great standard Misty and we dive into his lesser-known works, including Passing Through, Down Wylie Avenue, Nervous Waltz and more! Our special guest is bassist, author, painter, and playwright Ernest McCarty Jr. who in addition to working with Odetta, Oscar Brown Jr, Ike and Tina Turner, and Gloria Gaynor, was a mainstay in Garner's working band in the 1970s.
