Calliope Presents Slag Mountain
Meet Pittsburgh’s newest bluegrass band, Slag Mountain! Named after the molten rivers of waste ore that mesmerized past generations of Yinzers, the group brings the hot picking and high lonesome sounds of traditional bluegrass to Pittsburgh audiences.
Chances are you’ve already seen Dave Shepherd (guitar/vocal), Joe Dep (banjo), Nathan Vargo (fiddle), Jason Borisoff (mandolin/vocal), and Mitch Hall (bass/vocal) performing everywhere from festivals to clubs to river boarts to dance halls. Now, with their power combined, this all-star group is quickly building a fan base in Pittsburgh and beyond. Come and see what the fuss is all about!
