World Goth Day is observed annually on May 22nd to promote the goth subculture. Originating in the UK in 2009, this international day encourages people to express their "inner darkness.”
This year’s celebration of Pittsburgh Goth features live performances by bands Take Me With You (post-punk / synthpop) and MILLIE DREAD (cybergothic antipop), as well as dancing with DJs Erica Scary, KellyA, and Bedlamboy.
The evening also includes a listening party for lowsunday’s The Black EP; video projection of music videos from dark Pittsburgh bands; vending by Pittsburgh record labels Play Alone Records and Distortion Productions; a gothic fashion show; and a dark art display.
