Bushcraft: Foraged Salads from Garden "Weeds"

A “weed” is just a plant that isn’t where we would like it to be. Did you know that many of the “weeds” in your garden are actually edible, medicinal, and highly nutritious?
Come to Kindness Farm and meet your local “weeds” and learn how they can become a part of your everyday diet as you deepen your relationship to place, plants, and your practice as a forager. This workshop is meant for beginner foragers, but all skill levels are welcome to attend.

🍄 Please get your tickets here before the event! This really helps us with logistics and preparing for the event.
🚙 PARKING
Please park on the farm side of the street anywhere up or down the street. Do NOT park on the grass across the street from the farm (you will see "No Parking" signs). This is important for safety vehicles to pass through. We reserve 2 driveway parking spots (in the gravel, on the right) for folks with accessibility needs.
🌼 ACCESSIBILTY INFORMATION
Venue is not certified ADA accessible. The farm's bathroom is not technically ADA accessible, but has been used by folks with wheelchairs. The majority of the farm itself is accessible, though not all parts are (we have some narrow pathways). Note that we use woodchips for the majority of our pathways.

If you’re feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you rest at home and join us another time. Masks are not required for this gathering, but you are encouraged to mask or distance in whatever way feels right for you.
🌷 ABOUT KAWIKA
Kawika Kalama is a multiracial māhū interdisciplinary teaching artist, scholar, weaver, poet, photographer, diviner, healer, and cultivator of land. They were born and raised in Troth Yeddha’ and Tth'eetoo' (Fairbanks, Alaska) by parents deeply rooted in subsistence, reverence for land, and traditional ways of being. Kalama’s work weaves place-based arts education, reindigenization, and cross-cultural community belonging into tangible, embodied experiences that collectively explore the sacred.
Kawika’s lineages hail from Cebu, Kaua’i, Guangdong, the Pretanic Isles, Norway, and France. They are eternally grateful for all the elders, culture bearers, and ancestors who laid the foundation for all they practice.
