Celebrations! A Lake Oswego Millennium Band Winter Matinee Concert, Mar 8 at Lakeridge HS
There are many reasons for celebrating, be it to mark a joyous event, life moment, or achievement. There are also small, everyday things to celebrate, such as the changing of the seasons, or time to read a favorite book. The music in this concert is all about celebrations. We’ll celebrate America and our upcoming 250th birthday with “American Overture for Band”; classical music with a Rondo by Mozart, featuring a bass clarinet solo; and the changing of the seasons with a beautiful and haunting ballad called “October”. We’ll celebrate the swing era with a Glenn Miller medley; Disney with a Beauty and the Beast medley; George Gershwin with the “2nd Prelude”, Camille Saint-Saens with “Pas Redoublè”, and the United States Marines with “Esprit de Corps”. There will be something for everyone and possibly a new favorite to discover.
Admission is free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Doors open at 2:00PM with music and artists in the Lakeridge HS auditorium lobby, to enjoy before the concert, so come early.
