Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island’s biggest community celebration of the year—a morning where teams come together to have fun, raise critical funds, and uplift the power of youth mentorship. Whether you’re joining with your family, your BBBSRI match, coworkers, classmates, or a group of friends, this is a joyful, high-energy event where every bowled frame and every dollar raised directly supports young people across Rhode Island.
This year’s event features everything you need for an unforgettable experience. Enjoy two full hours of bowling, delicious pizza and soda, exciting raffles, friendly team contests, and a full spread of kids’ activities, including arts and crafts, face painting, and surprise character appearances. There is truly something for everyone—making this the perfect celebration for families, workplaces, and community groups looking to give back while having a great time.
Your participation ensures BBBSRI can continue creating and sustaining life-enhancing mentoring relationships for children and teens. Bowl for Kids’ Sake isn’t about being a great bowler—it’s about showing up for Rhode Island’s youth and helping to build a stronger, more connected community.
What You Get With Registration
• 2 hours of bowling

• Rental shoes and bowling balls

This all-inclusive experience makes it easy for families, teams, and businesses to participate without additional cost.
How to Participate
1. Form a Team
Gather up to six bowlers—your friends, neighbors, coworkers, family members, or your BBBSRI match.
Teams with fewer than six bowlers that have not reached the $600 fundraising minimum at least two weeks before the event may be matched with additional bowlers to fill the lane.
2. Register Online
Create your team’s registration page and share the link with your teammates so they can join individually.
Deadline to register: February 1.
Teams that register by this date receive one bonus raffle ticket per bowler to use for day-of raffle baskets.
3. Set Your Fundraising Goal
Team Requirement: Each team must raise a minimum of $600 to bowl (up to six bowlers).
Business Lanes:
Businesses may purchase a full lane for $600, covering up to six bowlers. After submitting their roster, each bowler receives an individual fundraising page to help raise additional support and compete for prizes. Business lanes are a great way for companies to promote team bonding, community engagement, and corporate philanthropy.
4. Fundraise & Share
Once your page is set up, personalize your story and share it widely—through email, text, social media, or your workplace networks.
Participants can also join social media challenges, compete for fundraising prizes, and invite friends, family, and coworkers to support the event. Every share helps raise awareness for mentoring and strengthens community support for Rhode Island youth.
5. Have Fun on Event Day
When event day arrives, all that’s left to do is enjoy the experience. The morning includes
• Costume contests for teams and kids
• Strike It Big Raffle (tickets sold before and during the event)
• Day-of raffle baskets featuring local businesses
• Kids’ crafts, games, and activities
• A fun, inclusive bowling atmosphere full of cheering and team spirit
